- 概要
- The availability of networks of UNIX-based graphical
workstations has stimulated new developments in
authoring software. The paper presents the authors'
experiences along several fronts. First, they
discuss the lessons learnt from developing a simple
authoring tool to run on the Atari-ST, using the GEM
operating system. They then discuss the development
of software using (1) the X11 toolkit and one of the
readily available widget sets, (2) a configurable
editor (GNU Emacs) to develop prototype
applications, and (3) the Andrew toolkit to
re-implement the original Atari authoring system,
but this time providing a tool that will allow
several authors to collaborate closely with each
other. The practicalities of these approaches are
discussed with reference to their own experiences.
