Abstract: This study looks at the interaction dynamics
        between a work and a computer organization in a
        large life-insurance firm. The dynamics of the
        interaction between the two is explained in terms of
        "the economic incentive to reduce the length of
        transaction processing chains and the more political
        goal of extending managerial control."
