- This thesis studies the application sharing
facilities that allow multiple conference
participants to interact simultaneously with
computer-based aplications in a desktop
teleconference. It focuses on
collaboration-transparent facilities that permit
existing single-user applications to be invoked from
within a computer conference. The thesis introduces
the basic architectures for shared window systems
and analyzes them based on experience with several
prototypes. Also presented within the shared window
context are application replication for improving
system performance; shared workspace management;
floor control; user customization; annotations; and
telepointing.
